Almost 30 years ago Jim Starr founded  a company that designed and built some of the highest quality Boat Docks, Boat Lifts, PWC Lifts and shoreline accessories available. Continuing with his innovative shoreline ideas, he relocated to Camden, Michigan in 1989 launching Starr Industries and developing the Starr line of docks, boat lifts and PWC lifts.

In 2001, with the growing popularity of Starr products, the Camden facilities became cramped and operations were moved to a more expansive location in Quincy, Michigan – the location where we continue, today, to build the Starr line of docks, lifts and shoreline accessories.

In 2006, Great Lakes Entry purchased the assets of Starr Industries. In the five years since, we have continued the long-standing tradition of quality craftsmanship that Starr products have long been known for. The original design specifications, tools and dies continue to be part of our manufacturing processes. Additionally, Starr’s original production manager remains a vital part of our team. And, the head of operations, Dave Wacker, is himself no stranger to production and production management. With over 20 years experience of his own, it’s no surprise that the tradition of unsurpassed quality is still present in today’s Starr Docks, Boat Lifts and PWC lifts!
